Calgary Chiropractor
Dr. Mike Stewart,
Calgary Chiropractor

Dr. Stewart was born and raised in Swift Current, Saskatchewan. In 1976 he moved to Calgary to attend SAIT and graduated with a Business Administration Diploma. In 1981 Dr. Stewart was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident that left him with daily neck pain and headaches, this resulted in his first experience with a chiropractor – Dr. David Peterson. Because of this positive experience Dr. Stewart soon decided a career change was necessary and after attending the University of Calgary he and his wife moved to Toronto to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College. Dr. Stewart began practicing in Calgary after graduating in 1989. He began full time practice with Dr. Peterson in the Chinook Centre Clinic. In 1995 he bought into a practice in downtown Calgary that is now Core Health Centre. He spends most of his working hours at Core Health Centre but still works part time at Active Back to Health Centre in Chinook Centre.

Outside of work hours Dr. Stewart spends time with his family and is actively involved in outdoor activities and various sports.

As well Dr. Stewart has been blessed to use his skills in leading medical based mission teams to Guatemala and Malawi where chiropractic is a new and exciting experience to the locals.

Calgary Chiropractor
Dr. Rob Taylor,
Calgary Chiropractor

Dr. Rob Taylor is a native Calgarian and after attending the University of Calgary graduated from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 1989. Since that time he has been in private practice in downtown Calgary at Core Health Centre. Dr. Taylor has been actively involved with the Alberta Chiropractic Association in areas of clinical proficiency testing for new grads and serving on the executive council.

He enjoys an active lifestyle with his three sons - playing hockey (12 months of the year), snowboarding and golf.

Dr. Taylor's Philosophy   -   "Who needs a chiro? Well you if sit, sleep, stand and/or play, then you are most likely in need of a chiropractor.  One of the biggest misconceptions floating around is that we require symptoms to actually have a problem.  Usually by the time the headache, backache or muscle spasms show up, the problem is well established. My approach to health is preventative chiropractic care that is wellness-centered."

Calgary Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Kathryn Henson,
Calgary Naturopathic Doctor

Dr. Henson is a graduate of the four-year professional ND program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, ON and is excited to be practicing in Calgary alongside the expert Chiropractors and Massage Therapists at Core Health Centre.

During her internship, Dr. Henson studied all elements of a holistic family practice and also became one of only 14 members of the Sports Medicine focused shift at the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic. During this shift she was able to apply her skills in pain management and athletic performance both in the clinic and at athletic events, such as marathons and bike relays.

Dr. Henson also completed a five-week program for Integrative Medicine at the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2008. While there, she learned to apply the art and practice of acupuncture to the treatment of various health concerns, including low back pain, stroke recovery, and high blood pressure.

Before attending the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Henson completed her Bachelor of Arts with a cross-disciplinary major in Biology from the University of Western Ontario in London, ON. Her studies focused on physiology, toxicology, and research reporting. With this background, she understands and values the accomplishments of the allopathic medical system to encourage a truly integrative medical approach to managing her patients. Her acquired interest for non-pharmacologic and personalized health care is what led her to continue her studies in Naturopathic Medicine.

Dr. Henson's philosophy is that every day presents a new opportunity to improve our health and happiness, and you deserve accurate and honest health advice to seize these opportunities.

Calgary Massage Therapist
Amber Kendal,
Calgary Massage Therapist

Amber is an experienced clinical massage therapist with a variety of client types. Her passion is working with athletes to rehabilitate muscles, and with active mature clients to keep their muscles fit for everyday life.

Amber graduated from Mount Royal College's Massage Therapy program in 2005. Before entering Mount Royal she spent two years at the College of the Rockies in Cranbrook BC where she took Human Kinetics (Kinesiology) and played college volleyball. Her time at the College of the Rockies added depth to her education of athletic injuries both in the class room and on the court.

Amber’s Philosophy in her own words:

“I believe that regular massages are a key part of a whole body wellness program. Massage Therapy allows your muscles to heal faster, eases soreness, and increase range of motion which, in turn, allows you to return to your workout routine and achieve fitness goals. Massage therapy combined with daily stretching, and an exercise decreases the affects of physical and emotional stress. Massage benefits the body by removing adhesions (knots), increasing circulation and relaxing the mind.”

“I emphasize consulting with my clients to get a thorough understanding of what they want to achieve from the massage therapy sessions. Whether it be a deep tissue massage to repair muscle damage, or a relaxation massage to get over a day’s stress.”

Calgary Chiropractic Assistant
Sandra Day,
Clinic Assistant

Having always enjoyed being around people who are seeking a healthier way of life, I was drawn to Core Health Centre because of the atmosphere, the friendly staff, and my own personal successes in the past.

Since grade school I suffered from migraines, and old dance injuries kept creeping back. When I was 19 years old I tried chiropractic care and it truly has been the only thing that works for me. I have not needed to seek any other solutions since. In addition, our Naturopathic Doctor found a solution regarding my diet that has also changed my life tremendously.

I use all of our services offered and love my job, the patients and the staff. It is possible to have a great quality of life even in this society of “hustle and bustle.”

Calgary Chiropractic Assistant
Joannah Law,
Clinic Assistant

My main ambition in life is to enjoy it! A close second is to do what I can to help others enjoy theirs.  So coming to work at Core Health Centre just seemed like the natural next chapter in the ‘Book of Me’.  I’m always looking for new ways to learn and grow and gain experience.  In my quest to do so, I’ve learned how to make the tastiest sushi, speak Spanish, and Skydive.  My next feat will be stand up comedy.

Quick Fact: At 15, I became a published poet with a poem called ‘Guardian Angel’ dedicated to my mom and I currently have a children’s book in the works that I’m planning to publish by the end of this year.
